Point number two is spot on, companies need to sensitize the new interviewers about this fact. I have seen people reject candidates based on the fact that the candidate does not know about the technology what the interviewer is right now working on or the problem that was solved last week by the interviewer. Interviewers should be able to distinguish between what core skills and knowledge are and what is gained by solving a particular type of problem. Also in my experience the more senior an interviewer is, the conversations are more humble and respectful with the candidates.
